Cristiano Ronaldo is trending in India because reports published on 26 October 2026 say he follows just one Indian account on Instagram: Aravind Srinivas, the Indian co-founder and CEO of Perplexity AI. The detail went viral because many expected Ronaldo’s only Indian follow to be a cricketer or footballer, not a tech entrepreneur.

Key facts

26 October 2026: reports said Ronaldo follows only one Indian Instagram account
That account is Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity AI
Ronaldo reportedly has about 679 million Instagram followers
Reports say Ronaldo follows around 638 accounts in total
Srinivas reportedly does not follow Ronaldo back on Instagram

What happened

A Malayalam headline helped push the topic further by framing it as “not Kohli or Chhetri,” which made the reveal feel surprising to many Indian readers.

As of 27 October 2026, the conversation is mainly about this social-media detail and the identity of the Indian account Ronaldo follows.

Who Aravind Srinivas is

That connection gives the follow some context beyond celebrity curiosity, since the reports suggest a professional link between the football star and the AI company.

The reports also say Srinivas does not follow Ronaldo back on Instagram, which added to the online discussion.

Key numbers behind the trend

The exact number of accounts Ronaldo follows can change over time, so this is a snapshot based on public Instagram observations and media reports.

The reports do not cite a direct statement from Ronaldo or Instagram confirming that Srinivas is definitively the only Indian account he follows.

What to watch next

If more reports or a direct confirmation appears, that could clarify whether Srinivas is indeed the only Indian account in Ronaldo’s follows list.

Until then, the safest reading is that this is a widely reported social-media observation, not a formal announcement from Ronaldo or Instagram.
