What happened today

As of 26 October 2026, Garena had not publicly confirmed when Free Fire India would return. That is why any date currently circulating should be treated as unconfirmed.

The main reason the topic is trending in India is that Garena-linked Indian channels reportedly changed branding on 26 October 2026 from “Free Fire MAX” to “Free Fire India Official” and “Free Fire India Esports.”

Background: why this matters in India

Free Fire was removed from India in February 2022 during a broader government action involving several apps. After that, Garena said it planned an India-specific version.

Because the game has been absent for a long time, even small signs of a comeback get major attention from Indian players and gaming creators.

Key dates and signals

The strongest reported date right now is 28 October 2026, but it remains a leak or creator claim rather than an official Garena announcement.

Reported Google Play listing updates on 24 September 2026 and 10 October 2026 have also been cited as signs that launch preparation may be active.

What to watch next

The official release date will only be confirmed by a direct Garena announcement or by an active download listing on the App Store or Google Play Store.

Until then, 28 October 2026 should be treated as a reported date, not a verified one.
