What happened

Paris Hilton is trending because of new reporting about Jonathan Van Meter’s authorized Kim Kardashian biography, Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future. The author said Hilton was supposed to be interviewed but kept canceling, with one report saying it happened 17 times over about four months.

The coverage published on October 23, 2026, and was followed by updates on October 24, 2026. That timing, plus the fact that the book is due out on October 27, 2026, is what pushed the story into wider attention in Canada.

Why people are talking about it

Van Meter said Kardashian was “so mad” when he told her about the missed interviews, and he described the episode as bringing back “ancient irritation” between the two women. Because Hilton was Kardashian’s former friend and employer, the missing interview stands out more than it would with a less personal connection.

The biography’s reporting also notes that Paris Hilton was one of three people reportedly not interviewed for the book, along with Kanye West and Ray J. That adds to interest because those names are all closely tied to different parts of Kardashian’s public life.

What Hilton’s side says

Hilton’s side disputes the idea that the cancellations prove a renewed feud. A source blamed a former assistant, scheduling problems and Hilton’s busy calendar rather than personal conflict.

That same source said Kardashian is “absolutely not mad” and that the two remain supportive and are involved in upcoming projects together. As of October 24, 2026, the feud framing is still uncertain because the book’s author and Hilton-linked sources are giving different versions of events.

What to watch next

The next key date is October 27, 2026, when Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future is scheduled to be released. More details may come out once the full biography is available and readers can compare the reporting with the book itself.

For now, the story is mainly about a high-profile scheduling dispute becoming a celebrity-news talking point. The strongest verified numbers are the 17 canceled interview attempts and the four-month period described by the author.
